ELEKTRA at the Hamburgische Staatsoper

For the first time Hamburg's new general music director Kent Nagano was conducting Richard Strauss' ELEKTRA.

Linda Watson sang the title role in the highly regarded production of August Everding.

The Hamburger Abendblatt wrote:

"Linda Watson, die als Elektra an den besten Häusern gastiert, hielt in der Titelpartie die Balance aus Exaltiertheit und fließendem Melos. Sie bot hochheiligen Zorn, Sarkasmus, Tücke – grundiert auf einer tiefen seelischen Verletzung. Watson hatte bis zum Schlusston Schmelz in ihrem kraftvollen, sehr geforderten Sopran."
