The American soprano Linda Watson is awarded the Austrian professional title "Kammersängerin". According to the Vienna State Opera, the title will be awarded to her on January 19 following the "Lohengrin" performance in which Watson sings Ortrud. Watson is considered an important interpreter of Wagner and Strauss. She has been heard at the most important opera houses such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Teatro Real Madrid, the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona, ​​the Milan Scala, the Paris Opera and the Metropolitan Opera New York. From 1992 to 2005 she was a member of the ensemble in Leipzig and later at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
